Halconero is an outstanding producer of athletic horses, suitable for competition in dressage, jumping, eventing, working equitation. His offspring are of excellent size, bone substance and well proportioned. They are also people oriented, extremely smart and sensible.

Hawk is one of the most versatile athletes in the Lusitano breed. He is trained in alta escuela (haute ecole) or high school movements including aires above ground. Upon being exported from Mexico, where he was a successful bullfighting stallion, he was introduced to jumping. In his very first year of show jumping training and competition, Hawk qualified for Worlds with Jim Ifco, a former Canadian Olympic trainer at Spruce Meadows near Calgary.

Hawk is in his 20s and still going strong! He executes everything with passion and exuberance. His panther-like athleticism, along with fantastic temperaments and trainability, are highlights of attributes passed on to his progeny. Hawk is a one of a kind stallion with many appreciative fans! His babies are truly fantastic, and we are thrilled to see his heritage carried on through them, and humbled to be the ones to help perpetuate his unique genes. At 25 years old he is still 100% sound and graceful, dancing around his mares, and strutting his stuff. His soundness is yet another nod to his wonderful, rare, genetic makeup. At the revision held at Jaz Ranch in October the judge was extremely complimentary about Halconero and his offspring. Hawk’s daughter, Xena, received the highest score (over 3 wonderful daughters of Quarteto do Top) and Hawk now has 6 APSL approved mares bred to him for 2015!
