TESTIMONIALS AND REVIEWS.....

"We absolutely love our beautiful Lusitanos from Jaz Ranch!  Gail and Brent are such wonderful people, and spent loads of time with us as we made our final decision.  We couldn't be happier with the two colts we purchased.  They have become very dear members of our family. Both colts inherited Halconero's athleticism and intellegence.  Within just a few months they are excelling in their classical training and they will only get better and better with time.  Thank you, thank you, thank you to Gail and to Brent, and especially to Halconero, Caressa and Bandita for producing such magnificent Lusitano colts! - Dr. and Mrs. Michael Walker

 WRENWOOD  DRESSAGE

After reviewing numerous options within the Andalusian and Lusitano market, we selected to pursue our recent acquisition through the Jaz Ranch in Utah.  Young horses were individually paddocked with accompanying run in stall sheds.  They had minimal handling but the handling they did received was superb.  Our choice was a 2013 black, 15.0h, Lusitano stallion with two white rear socks we affectionately call Icon.

The pre purchase veterinary examination included over 30 radiographs, toxicological testing, clinical examination, and flexion tests on all four limbs.  Icon passed with flying colors.  Within two weeks he was being unloaded out of his box transport stall via SFE transportation company at our Wrenwood Dressage training facility.  He walked off as if he was looking for coffee and a donut.  No spook, no ill temper, no overtly inappropriate stallion behavior, and looking fat and fit to begin his formal education.

Icon was placed in a quarantine stall for the first three weeks but maintained a productive initial training regimen during such.  As of this writing, Icon has been on site for less than a month and has learned to turn and face or hook up when a liberty, lead without a halter or rope of any type, wear protective leg wear or boots, stand tied singularly, stand tied in a cross tie, bathe without incident, leg lead, lay down, walk over a tarp, wear a surcingle and pad, line drive, and stand without restraint to be brushed, tacked, and have his feet picked.  Although it is much too early to make any absolute determination, for the month that he has been here he ranks in the top ten of horses I have handled in 37 consecutive years of International Dressage.

Customarily, horses are either unhandled and too wild when the initial training phase begins, or worse, over handled and acquire "pet" status and do not respect their human handlers.  Jaz Ranch did a magnificent job of managing Icon's emotional development all the while maximizing his physical development.  I credit them with properly preparing this young student for training.

“I have had Hypnotico (AKA Tico) now for almost two weeks and he has transitioned into his new home exceptionally well. He is a beautiful horse, inside and out, and he is not even three years old. I can't wait to witness his transformation to an adult horse and Dressage partner over the next several years. I think he will be quite phenomenal (of course I do).   I will keep you posted on his progress."
Warm wishes, Susanne
